Doctor Tatiane Villar

Dr. Villar
is originally from São Paulo, Brazil, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of São Paulo in 2012. After graduating, she completed a Small Animal Surgery residency at the University of São Paulo before moving to the United States to pursue her specialization in Ophthalmology. Dr. Villar initially came to the United States as a visiting scholar and spent over a year working at the Comparative Ophthalmology Laboratory at the University of Illinois, where she developed and conducted research projects and established both corneal and amniotic membrane banks for use as transplants in dogs and horses. She then remained at the University of Illinois, where she completed a Specialty Internship in Ophthalmology, followed by a Residency in Ophthalmology. Dr. Villar became a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist in 2022 and completed her foreign veterinary license equivalency program (ECFVG) that same year. Following her residency, she worked in Central Florida for nearly five years before moving to Houston. Dr. Villar speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, and German. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, learning Italian, reading, riding her bicycle, and traveling around the world with her husband.
